Sticks and Stones Branch Necklace

The Sycamore Tree was known as the "Ghost of the Forest" to the Native Americans. They are a huge, hardy tree, with a long history in folklore dating back to time of Egyptians. Said to have been introduced from the Middle East to Europe by the Crusaders, it was under a sycamore tree that Mary and Jesus stopped to catch their breath on their way to Egypt. The first travelers to North America brought it here over the Atlantic.

This necklace was made from an actual stick in my yard...There's a towering 80 foot sycamore right outside my back door!
